Both One&Only Mandarina and Rosewood Mandarina sit along the same dramatic stretch of Pacific coastline within the Mandarina development, but the experience of the beach differs meaningfully depending on where you stay and how you plan to use it.
The Setting (Shared Coastline)
Mandarina’s beach is long, wide, and naturally beautiful, framed by jungle-covered cliffs and open Pacific views. This is a true Pacific Ocean beach, which means:
Sand is more golden than white
Waves can be strong at times
Water clarity and swimmability vary by season and conditions
Guests should not expect calm, turquoise, Caribbean-style swimming. Instead, the beach is best appreciated for scenery, walking, relaxation, and atmosphere, with swimming conditions dependent on the day.
Rosewood Mandarina Beach Experience
Rosewood Mandarina is the only resort in Mandarina with suites directly on the beach, making the ocean a central part of the guest experience.
What guests can expect:
Beachfront suites located steps from the sand
A long, quiet stretch of beach with no public access
Easy walkability from beachfront rooms to pools and dining
Loungers and shaded seating arranged near the resort’s pools and beachfront areas
Direct access to Canalan Beach Club, located at the southern end of the beach
Because of the resort’s flat, walkable layout, the beach feels integrated into daily life at Rosewood. Guests often move fluidly between their room, pool, beach, and restaurant without needing buggy transportation.
The beach itself is typically calm in terms of crowd levels, especially given Rosewood’s limited room count. Even during peak periods, it feels spacious and uncrowded.
Swimming conditions are variable, as expected on the Pacific, but guests commonly enjoy:
Beach walks
Sitting near the shoreline
